What do I do to make sure my APR is reduced when I go on active duty? (SCRA) How do I receive SCRA coverage?
- If you are called to active duty, and you already have an account with Petal, we’ll apply Servicemember’s Civil Relief Act interest rate coverage to your account and it’s current balance. Please send us a copy of the active duty orders or a letter signed by the Servicemember’s commanding officer on the applicable organization’s letterhead with your active duty dates via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or via mail to the following address:
Petal Card Inc.
MSC – 166931
P.O Box 105168
Atlanta, GA 30348-5168
- Once we receive your paperwork and confirm your Petal account eligibility with the Department of Defense Manpower Data Center, we’ll reduce the account APR to 6% on any outstanding balances, and your account for the duration of your active duty service. Any applicable interest charged above 6% from the date you or (or the Servicemember) became active duty to the date Petal confirmed your active duty status will be refunded in a statement credit.
- You’ll receive a confirmation notice letting you know when SCRA coverage has been applied to your Petal account.
I forgot to indicate my active duty status for my Petal account (SCRA). What do I do?
- Don’t worry! You can still apply for coverage under the Servicemember’s Civil Relief Act for up to 180 days after your service ends by following the instructions above. Once your Petal account eligibility is confirmed, any applicable interest charged above 6% from the date you became active duty to the date Petal confirmed your status will be refunded in a statement credit.
