The California Consumer Privacy Act (or the CCPA) is a California state statute that aims to enhance privacy rights and consumer protections for California residents.
The CCPA gives California residents the right to:
- Know what personal information is being collected about them.
- Know whether their personal information is sold or disclosed and to whom.
- Say no to the sale of personal information.
- Access their personal information.
- Request a business to delete any personal information collected from that individual.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising their privacy rights.
