How does Petal protect me against fraud?
Petal monitors your account transactions 24/7 so we can detect fraudulent activity as soon as possible. If we spot an unusual charge, we may contact you to confirm that you made the charge. In some cases, we may put a temporary hold on your account and send you a notification before the charge is approved. If it wasn’t you, we’ll investigate the unusual activity.
Petal also utilizes fraud detection tools to monitor for any potential compromises. We will notify you if we receive any alerts of suspicious activity and may also issue a new card in these cases to protect your account.
If you have any questions about fraud or think you may have fraudulent activity on your account, freeze your card and give us a call right away at 1-855-697-3825. You can easily do this by clicking on the transaction you'd like to dispute in your activity feed and clicking I don’t recognize this transaction.
How can I protect myself against fraud?
Here are a few steps we recommend taking to protect yourself against fraud on your Petal account:
- Create a unique password that you use only for your Petal account.
- Only access your Petal account from your phone or a secure web browser and never share your account details.
- Pay attention to notifications you receive from Petal to ensure you’re alerted to any fraudulent activity.
- Contact us right away if your card has been lost or stolen, if you suspect your account is compromised, or if you have not received your card in the mail after 10 business days.
